Usability and Consistency in Dashboard and Detail View
Fannie Mae is a government-sponsored enterprise that plays a key role in the U.S. housing finance system.
As an employee of Fannie Mae, I was tasked with collaborating with multiple internal teams, to learn and discover their daily tasks, wants and needs, and provide enhanced UI and experiences by leveraging their design system, Blueprint’s, components and principles, along with my own expertise and guidance.
For this project, the acquisitions team was accessing a 40 year old application to validate accurate data on pools and create securities. This application was very unusable, required information for task completion was not easily accessible, and users were unsatisfied. Licensing for this application was also costing Fannie Mae millions of dollars.
The application was planned for retirement by the 2nd quarter of 2025, so a decision was made to create an entirely new application from scratch, called Multifamily Pooling Application for the acquisitions team.
